Thunderfunk Amps
"No limits---No Compromise"
The Thunderfunk TFB550-B Bass Amp is the direct descendent of the amp that Jaco Pastorius loved, the legendary AMP BH-420, redesigned, improved, and handmade in the U.S.A. by Dave Funk. With an all-aluminum chassis, the TFB550-B weighs in at only 16 pounds. Compare that to 85 pounds for an SVT. And the amp can operate with or without the fan, so it's quiet for Studio or TV use, and produces less hum than a tube amp. While a tube amp might be slightly warmer, you'll soon realize that what you gained in "warmth" you gave up in definition, and response. Add "The Switch" (now standard on the TFB550-B) and you'll be able to tailor the amp's response from a super clean solid-state style tone for slap and double bass playing, to a gutty, warm, tube-tone for all the rest.
"I personally use and endorse the Thunderfunk amp. It sports a tremendously focused and warm tone with all settings basically flat---In my opinion, the heart of a great amp. Then with a very minor tweak (thanks to the timbre setting) I've pulled up a very defined slap sound. Efficient, with great tone. This is a very well thought out piece of equipment, and I recommend it highly." -- Jake Kot
"This amp lets a great bass sound great. There's a physicality to the sound that you won't get on a recording" -- Brad Johnson
"It is astounding. I just left the eq flat and set the timbre control at 11:00---tone was fantastic." -- Lindsay Davies--U.K.
"Your amp is just great, and all of my expectations are met---easy to use, sounds superb without any adjustments." -- Jan Ehresmann--Germany
